Núria Guiu
About
Núria Guiu Sagarra is a dancer and choreographer. Her artistic practice explores the relationship between bodies, image, and power dynamics from a personal, sociocultural, and speculative perspective. Her works investigate the complexities of contemporary culture through an anthropological lens, particularly those related to digital environments, memory, and affect.
Based in Barcelona, she has collaborated as a performer with companies such as the Cullberg Ballet, Gisèle Vienne, Carte Blanche Dance Company, Ingri Fiksdal, Jasmin Vardimon, La Veronal, and Kobalt Works, among others. Her work questions the complexities of contemporary culture. She has created pieces such as Likes (selected by the European platform Aerowaves 2018), Spiritual Boyfriends (presented at the Grec Festival 2020), and Cyberexorcisme. MEDIUM and SUPERMEDIUM are the result of a collaboration with Norwegian choreographer Ingri Fiksdal.

POV
POV explores how the gaze and language shape the way bodies are understood. Drawing from a hysteria visual archive, social-media meme culture, mythology and pop references, the piece unfolds as a sharp and playful lecture-performance where poses, images and words collide. Núria Guiu examines how bodies are read, classified and performed—how a gesture becomes a caption, how a caption becomes an identity, and how visibility shapes our sense of self.
Through humour, precision and vulnerability, the work reveals the tension between being seen and being understood, hinting at the spaces of perception, invisibility and echo that lie beyond the image.
